IS THIS LOVE?

Did Judas love Jesus?

Rehearsing his last words to him in the Garden of Gethsemane, I sense that his greeting would at least seem to be one of deep respect and affection. He might even wait for Jesus to take his outstretched arms before planting the kisses on him that seal his fate. And Jesus, knowing exactly what Judas was about and aware of what that meant in terms of his imminent torture and execution, would have taken those hands in his own – because, even at the last, he cannot but love even the worst of us.
